Catch Up: Part 1

I realize that I have been a huge slacker when it comes to posting about the adventures that I have been on over the course of the last few months. So this is my attempt at catching up a little bit at a time!

First, I had the opportunity to spend a day with my "little" brother Devin in June. We went on a short hike to slot canyon waterfall (the name of which I cannot remember at this time) off of Wasatch Blvd in Sandy.

We, some of my roommates and friends from the ward decided to go try out Gloria's Little Italy, a delicious Italian restaurant on Center Street in Provo.

Then there was out 4th of July celebration at Stadium of Fire. A big group of us went and had a blast listening to David Archuleta and Brad Paisley, watching the various other performances and of course enjoying the fireworks!

We had a couple of bonfires this summer, here are some pictures from those:

Summer just wouldn't be summer without enjoying a bit of good old American baseball (or softball, same difference right?!) Some of the people in my ward formed an inter-mural softball team at BYU and we (me and others from the ward) went to support them. Just for the record, inter-mural rules are the worst, most confusing way to play softball, ever!

Manti

On Friday, June 17 my roommates and I went to Manti to attend a temple session and then watch the Manti pageant. We had SO much fun together and the day was beautiful.

Sunday Barbecue

Once again my roommates and I decided to go up the canyon for a little adventure to prevent our Sunday afternoon boredom. This week's adventure was a barbecue! It was my first time using charcoal briquettes and the food turned out wonderful, thanks in part to the help of everyone.

Jeff and I took care of the barbecuing, which turned out wonderfully bytheway.

Jessi, Maren, Alyson, Matt and Sam took care of preparing the corn on the cob to be barbecued. This was the first time I had barbecued corn and it was rather scrumptious.

For some reason I have the need to make myself dirty and on this adventure I decided that a charcoal mustache was necessary.

I don't know what these two are planning but it looks suspicious.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Nay!

On Saturday, June 11 I went with my family to visit my Grandparent in Gunnison, UT to celebrate my Grandpa's birthday. It was great to spend time together as a family.

During this visit I decided that my older sister, Elisha, deserves a celestial kingdom pass for trimming my Grandma's toenails. I say this not just because feet are gross and smelly but because she also took a beating for doing so and at one point she had to sit on Grandma to make her cooperate. So thank you Elisha for doing what the rest of us are too afraid to do.

Kate was my little buddy for most of the day, we had quite a bit of fun together.

Elisha, Russ, Mom and Dad made some delicious dutch oven potatoes with chicken and bacon.

Gerald, Janelle and family came over to celebrate with us.

Happy Birthday Grandpa! I'm grateful for all that I have learned and will continue to learn from him.
